On our 37th week appointment to the gynecologist, we were told to stand by for French Fries birth. As she is weighing 3.2kg at that time and could be out anytime. So we read up some tips on what are the signs of labour as well.

14 July, Saturday

However, that week everything is as normal. We quickly go makan the food that we can makan as we know when French Fries is out, it is probably a 2-3 months that we may not go dating as before.

Dinner @ House of Seafood, Punggol

That week we still go eat Crab at Punggol Settlement. That is one of our favourite place to eat crab because they have promotion of 600g-800g crab at only $28.

So we fast hand fast leg, go there eat. But who knows they so popular at 8pm, the crabs already sold out. Need to order their Big Crab at S$65/kg.

So we order 2 crabs, which is 1.4kg each.

16 July 

So we decided to go have some dim sum and since it is a weekday morning, might as well go to Takashimaya for our favourite dim sum restaurant at imperial treasure.

En route, we were still googling where is the best place to park in orchard that is near to Takashimaya. We will be there for like 3 hours starting from 11.30am.

So Takashimaya parking charges super complicated. Such a big building, yet so neow on the parking. Still need to have "surcharge" on the lunch hours.​

Whereby Cineleisure has a more straight forward parking charges. We like to park at Cineleisure during weekends. 3 hours for S$4.50. No need think so much.

But in the end, we park at Takashimaya. It is probably less than S$1 difference to park at Takashimaya plus, we are only going to Takashimaya to eat and shop around for awhile.

Contractions Started

So Mummy's contraction already started at irregular interval. We know is contractions because it is some slight pain at the lower back. 

At the same time Mummy downloaded the contractor timer app (Android / Apple) so that she can keep track of her contraction. So we know when it is time to go to the hospital when it occurs.

Dinner Mookata @ 555 Villa Thai

Then we head to 555 Villa Thai at Changi area for Mookata because hearsay there is good to chill and they have mookata. But my friends have never tried their mookata.

Contractions Still On-Going

Amid all our makan, Mummy's contraction is still on-going, but not till the 10mins interval and painful. 

D-1 10pm

So we headed home with our entire body smelling of Mookata with Mummy having contractions at increasing interval. And at 10pm the contractions is 10-15mins for 1 Min.

I don't know where Mummy read, she say must 5 Mins Interval, with 1 Min of Contractions then that is cue to go hospital.

D Day 1am

At 1am ish, the contractions was like 6-8mins interval. And I keep asking her if water bag burst anot. Because I always thought, must water bag burst + Contractions then it is cue to go hospital.

D Day 5am

At 6am, Mummy cannot take the contractions pain, she request to go hospital to get pain killers. So I woke up, go toilet wash up and have my Pang Sai break. 

So while PS-ing, I go google "signs of labour". It says frequent contractions of 4-6mins, that is the cue to hospital.

Holy Shit! 

Mummy has been enduring the contractions for the past 18 hours. And I always thought must water bag burst then is the cue to go hospital. Watch too many dramas liao.

D Day 6.20am

So I fast hand fast leg, go take our hospital luggage preparing to go hospital. While loading the luggage, I called the emergency hotline and left a message to the doctor.

D Day 6.45am

At 6.45am, Doctor reply was to go hospital while we already on the way to Mount Alvernia.

D Day 7am

Reach the hospital and it is not what you see in the video. Slowly walk to check in. Straight away drop off at A&E , and the duty personnel will bring her on a wheelchair up to the delivery suite at level 3 when you go park your car.

Where can so stylo walk with style one. Unless you take cab lah.

At the Labour Ward

This is the place when all the checks are done, before the next action. A room that can fill up to 5 mummies. Luckily when we were there, only 1 bed was occupied. 

If not you will hear alot of mummies, "Aiyoh, Aiyoh, Aiyoh"

So, a nurse will attend to Mummy with the contractions belt for detecting contractions and another one for baby's heart beat. Where the Daddy will be busy doing all the paperwork.

Signing all the medisave forms, admission forms, and paying a deposit.

D Day 8am - Scheduled for C Section

After all the checks, nurse updated that French Fries is not in position for labour and had informed the Doctor.

So Doctor had advised for an operation at 8.45am. 

We were still thinking when should we actually conduct this, but since French Fries had decided on her birthday.

So we are all preparing for the Caesarean delivery with epidural. So that the husband can enter the operating theater. 

At this moment, no laughing gas was administered because it takes awhile to take effect and we were proceeding to the operating theater.

D Day 8.45am

Dr Pang reached the hospital at 8.40am. Very fast! Was like within an hour! And they were all in the operating theatre by 8.50am. I was advised to get changed to their gown and wait at the waiting area.

D Day 9am

I was ushered into the operating theatre moments at 9am. When I entered, Mummy's stomach is slit open. And I was told to sit beside the top of Mummy to give her comfort and encouragement.

Mummy was nervous and scared at that point of time, and the Doctors and Nurses were glad I was there to comfort her.

Then suddenly, the Doctor called for help to push the baby out from the womb. All the assistants and nurses, pushed Mummy's stomach and Ta dahhh!

D Day 9.08am

Our little Princess French Fries is borned!

Weighing at a healthy weight of 3.2kg !

So that weekend hoot 4D, 0908 and 1707.
