Breaking News: GrabFood introduce minimum basket + platform fees

By Money Saving Daddy

As expected that Grabfood will slowly slowly increase their fees to (make their platform) better.

At this period where a lot people are staying home and ordering food online.

Grabfood introduce minimum basket value of $8 (14 March 10am) and platform fees of 20¢ on 27 March.

Minimum $8

So your minimum order needs to be $8. If not they auto add for you.

So you cannot order 1 bubble Tea at $5 and just pay for the delivery fees. You need to top up the differences to $8.

So now $8 is the magic number because Grabfood charge merchant around 30%. And the rider gets paid like $2-$5 depending if peak period anot.

So break-even is $8.

No more $9.90 FoodPass

And you also realise that the foodpass plan sip sip disappear if you are still hesitating to subscribe. The $9.90 monthly with 50 delivery credits.

So time to dabao your own food if you don’t wanna pay for these fees.

But if you want convenience, you can carry on.

More details can be found on your grab app message.
